This policy explains exactly what Gati collects, why, and what it never does. It was written against the app’s source code rather than from a template — every claim below matches something you can verify in the app itself.
Whether or not you sign in, the app keeps the following locally:
Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
Signing in is optional and exists for one reason: so your data survives a lost or replaced phone. If you sign in, the items above are copied to our database, along with:
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Your account data, only if you sign in | Database, authentication, backup |
| Google Play Services | Your Google account, if you choose Google sign-in | Authentication |
| Google Places | An Precise coordinate, via our server | Finding real places near you |
| Google Play Billing | Handled entirely by Google | Subscriptions, if you buy one |
| Expo Push / Firebase | A device push token | Delivering notifications |
| OpenAI | A place name and category — never anything about you | One-line “why this place” blurbs |
We never send your name, date of birth, lifestyle answers or email address to Google Places or OpenAI.
Payments: Gati never sees your card details. All payment information is handled by Google Play. We receive only a purchase receipt used to confirm your subscription is active.
In the app: Profile → Delete account, then confirm twice. This permanently erases your profile, streak history, saved places, ratings, notes and push token from our servers. It cannot be undone.
It does not cancel an active subscription — cancel that in the Google Play Store first, or you will continue to be billed.
Full instructions are on our account deletion page.
Gati is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
All traffic uses HTTPS. Account data is protected by row-level security, so one account cannot read another’s records. Subscription status is writable only by our server after verifying a receipt with Google — it can never be granted by a modified app. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to withdraw consent.
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
