The short version

  • We collect only what Semora needs: your account, the semester you set up, and files you choose to add.
  • No ads, no tracking, and we never sell your data.
  • AI features send your question and the course context it needs to Anthropic, which doesn’t train its models on it.
  • Your AI conversations, your “Write in your voice” sample and your Assignment Studio drafts stay on your phone.
  • You can export everything, or delete your account and all its data, from inside the app at any time.

01Who we are

Semora: Uni Life Assistant (“Semora”) is a mobile app made by Creaeza LLC (“Creaeza”, “we”, “us”), a limited liability company registered in the United States. Creaeza is the controller of the personal data described here, and you can reach us at contact@creaeza.com.

This policy covers the Semora Android app and the Semora pages on creaeza.com. Creaeza’s agency services and the rest of our website are covered by Creaeza’s Privacy Policy.

02What we collect

Semora only collects what it needs to work. Everything below comes from you, from Google when you choose to use a Google service, or from your use of the app.

Your account
Your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and stored only as a secure hash; we never see them.
Your semester
What you add to Semora: semesters and courses, your class schedule and changes to it, attendance, syllabus topics, assignments, quizzes and exams, marks and grading settings, notes, to-dos, previous semesters’ GPAs, and preferences such as your degree, reminders and AI language.
Files you add
Timetables, assignment sheets, course materials, past papers, photos of class notes and Big Project attachments. They’re kept in private storage that only your account can reach.
AI requests
When you use the Study Guide, quiz practice, past-paper analysis, catch-up plans, document import or Assignment Studio, we send your question or file, plus the course context needed for a useful answer (for example your degree, course, topics and assignment brief), to our AI provider. When “Write in your voice” is on, your writing sample goes with assignment-help requests. Our servers don’t keep your conversations; your chat history is stored on your phone.
AI reports
If you report an AI response, we keep that response, the question or title it answered, the reason you picked and your account ID, so our team can review it and improve Semora’s safeguards. Reports are deleted with your account.
Big Project Requests
What you submit: project title, degree and course, project type and stage, the help you need, deadline, description, attachments, contact email, preferred contact time and time zone. We also keep our team’s notes and replies.
Assignment Studio requests
If you ask to join the Assignment Studio beta: your university and a short note (both optional), when you asked, and our decision with any note from our team. The request email our team receives also shows your name, email address, degree and account ID. Your assignment drafts are not part of this: they stay on your phone.
Premium and referrals
Your subscription details from Google Play (such as product, status, renewal date, order ID and country), Premium days from referrals or promotions, and your referral code and referral history. Google Play handles payment; we never see your card. With each purchase we give Google a one-way scrambled form (a hash) of your Semora account ID, so a purchase can only unlock Premium on your account.
Promo codes
If you enter a promo code for Premium, we record that your account used it and when, to apply the code’s limits. Google Play handles the discounted payment.
Usage limits
How many AI questions you’ve used, which free tries of Premium features you’ve used (and when), so we can apply the free allowance and a daily fair-use limit.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, a push token for your device, used only to tell you when our team replies to a Big Project Request or decides on your Assignment Studio request. Class, attendance and deadline reminders are scheduled on your phone and don’t pass through our servers.
Technical data
Our hosting providers automatically log basic request data, such as IP address, time and errors, to keep Semora secure and working.

What we don’t collect. Semora has no advertising or analytics tools, doesn’t use your location or contacts, doesn’t access your microphone, and never sells or rents your personal data.

03What stays on your phone

Semora is built to work offline, so some things live only on your device:

  • A full copy of your semester, which syncs with your account when you’re online.
  • Your AI chat history. When you sign out, it stays on this phone for your account and comes back when you sign in again; another account signing in on the phone can’t see it.
  • Your Assignment Studio assignments: the brief as Semora read it, your plan, everything you write, feedback and references. The brief and the text you send for feedback, polishing or a final check go to our AI provider for that request only; our servers don’t keep them. Exports are created on your phone.
  • Your “Write in your voice” writing sample. It leaves your phone only with an assignment-help request, while the option is on.
  • Your reminders and notification schedule.
  • Which Uni Hacks you’ve opened.

Deleting your account in the app also clears this copy from your phone.

04How we use your data

  • To run Semora: keep your semester in sync across your devices, store your files and build your dashboard.
  • To answer AI requests and read the documents you import.
  • To find learning videos for the topics you study.
  • To manage Premium, referrals and purchases.
  • To reply to Big Project Requests and support emails, and to review Assignment Studio requests.
  • To send service emails, such as confirming your account, resetting your password, confirming a Big Project Request and letting you know our decision on an Assignment Studio request. We don’t send marketing emails.
  • To keep Semora secure and fair: preventing abuse, applying free and daily limits, and fixing errors.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

We don’t use your data for advertising, we don’t build profiles to share with others, and we don’t make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you by automated means.

05Legal bases

If you’re in the EEA, the UK or another place with similar laws, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide the features you ask for, such as your account, sync, AI answers and Premium.
  • Legitimate interests: to keep Semora secure, prevent abuse and keep it reliable, always balanced against your rights.
  • Consent: for notifications, camera and photo access, and sending your writing sample. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app or in your phone’s settings.
  • Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or share information.

06AI features

  • Semora’s AI features are powered by Anthropic, PBC (the Claude models). We send only what a request needs. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, it doesn’t use this data to train its models, and it keeps it only for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring.
  • When you import a photo, Google Cloud Vision may read the text in it first.
  • AI can make mistakes. Check important information against your course materials and your teachers.
  • You can report any AI response that’s offensive, harmful or wrong with the flag button next to it. Our team reviews every report.
  • Please don’t put sensitive personal information, such as health details or ID numbers, into AI requests or uploads unless you need to.

07Who helps us run Semora

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. In that case we’ll tell you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

08YouTube

Semora’s learning resources use YouTube API Services. When you look for videos on a topic, including the videos Semora suggests for your upcoming assignments and quizzes, our server sends the topic to YouTube; your name, email and account aren’t included. Videos play inside Semora in YouTube’s embedded player (privacy-enhanced mode), or in the YouTube app if you choose. When a video plays, YouTube receives the information any player gets, such as your IP address and device details, and the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy apply.

09Where your data is stored

Semora’s database and files are hosted in Seoul, South Korea, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data protection law requires it, these transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

10How long we keep it

While you have an account
We keep your account and semester data for as long as your account exists.
Items you delete
They disappear from the app right away, and uploaded files are removed from storage at once. The deleted record stays marked as deleted on our servers so your other devices sync the change, and is erased for good when you delete your account.
When you delete your account
We delete your files, then your account and everything linked to it. Copies can remain in our database provider’s encrypted backups for up to 30 days before they’re overwritten.
Assignment Studio requests
Kept while your account exists, so your access stays in place, and deleted with your account. Drafts on your phone stay there for your account when you sign out, and are removed when you delete your account or uninstall the app.
Emails with our team
Big Project and support emails stay in our inbox for up to 24 months after the conversation ends, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we keep working together under a separate agreement.
Logs and purchases
Our providers keep server logs for a short time, up to 90 days. Google Play keeps its own records of your purchases under Google’s policies.

11Security

  • Each account can reach only its own data, enforced by row-level security in our database.
  • Files live in private storage, in a folder that belongs to your account.
  • Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our providers.
  • Your sign-in session is kept in your phone’s secure storage, and secret keys stay on our servers, never in the app.
  • Purchases are checked with Google before Premium unlocks.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we’ll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

12Your rights and choices

In the app, anytime

  • Download everything as a file: Me → Account & data → Export my data.
  • Edit or delete any course, note, file or other item.
  • Turn notification types on or off in Me → Notifications, and turn “Write in your voice” off in Me.
  • Delete your account and its data: Me → Account & data → Delete account. More ways to delete.

By email

You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your data, or object to how we use it. Email contact@creaeza.com from the address on your account, and we’ll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

California

We don’t sell or share personal information as the California Consumer Privacy Act defines it, and we don’t use sensitive personal information in ways that would require an opt-out. You can use the rights to know, correct and delete described above, and we won’t treat you differently for using them.

13Children

Semora is made for university students aged 18 and over. It isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you think someone under 18 has given us personal data, email contact@creaeza.com and we’ll delete it.

14Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when Semora changes, and the date at the top shows the current version. If we make a significant change, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
